Charles L. Robinson, Jr., CCIM, a Principal at Red Rock
Realty Group, has been in commercial real estate since 2007. Before 2007, he
enjoyed a diverse background. Charles graduated from the University of the
South (Sewanee) in 1993 with a B.S. in Natural Resources. He then served in
the U.S. Peace Corps for over two years in Niger, West Africa working in
woodless construction and agro-forestry. Charles later earned a Master of
Forestry degree from Duke University in 1998. For the next several years,
Charles worked as a Registered Forester with Forest Resource Consultants in
southern Mississippi, where he assisted in the management of over 60,000
acres of investor-owned timberland located in southern Alabama, Mississippi,
and Louisiana. After moving home to Birmingham, he joined Altec Industries,
a world leader in electric utility equipment, where he quadrupled the
Federal Government business as a National Account Manager.
In 2007, he
partnered with Tom Carruthers and acquired Property Managers, Inc., a local
property management company established in 1934. In 2008, he became a
Principal at Carruthers Real Estate. Later in 2010, Charles and Tom merged
their two companies into Red Rock Realty Group. Charles has closed over $20
million in commercial real estate transactions. He spends a lot of time
working with property management clients, and focuses on real
estate acquisitions with local investor groups. He enjoys hunting, fishing,
coaching little league, and working on the farm. Charles is currently the
2012 Education Chair for the AL Chapter of CCIM. He is also a Member
of a BBA Entrepreneurs' Roundtable Group and a Member of the local
UAB-Downtown Chapter of BNI. Charles is an Usher at St. Stephen's
Episcopal Church in Birmingham, AL. He is married and has four
children.
